Nueva Ecija to Ifugao (part 1)

Here is the continuation of my post " a very long trip"..

Since we cannot get an air conditioned bus we opt to ride an ordinary bus. I really thought that it would be okay to ride an ordinary bus but no when we enter the bus we cannot pass through the aisle because there are so much luggage including a sack of feeds and basket trays of chicks. Due to this circumstances i decided to sit beside the aisle where in i am also beside the basket trays of chicks.. Waaah!!! the smell is so unpleasant but i have endure it to be able to get comfortable during the trip. When some of the passengers started to leave the bus i found a space where i can sit comfortably. but when i get to the seat. the only man in the seat is lying as if he's in his own bed.. waah... nkakainis.. but then i still continue to sit but the man keep on slouching so i really cannot properly.. i really hate him... hmmm.. hahaha!!! so the trip continues.. when we got to Aritao Nueva Vizcaya, the bus reached the bus stop. When we get out of the bus we were surprised with what we saw. the bus stop that we were expecting is not the bus stop that we are in.. And in our surprise we found out that we were riding a Dagupan Bus Liner instead of Victory Liner.. Waah.. all through out the travel we really thought that we were riding in Victory Liner.. haay.. our bubbles were burst.. Anyways.. Let's continue the trip..

Dagupan Bus Liner Bus stop
At 3 am to reached Shell Santiago our supposed meeting place. But it is too early our meeting time is supposed to be before 6 am.. We were 3 hours early.. what are we gonna do then? i asked.. Fortunately there a 24 hour Jollibee beside the gas station so we decided to stay and eat there for a while. After eating french fries we decided to go to the terminal going to Mayoyao. At 4.30 we reached the terminal, it still dark but the bus going to Mayoyao is already there and they allowing the passengers to go inside even though the trip is at 6:00am. We hardly see inside the bus, the seats are full of things so we ended up sitting at the last part of the bus. But surprisingly, when the sun comes up we noticed that we're the only one that were inside the bus. hahaha!!! the things inside the bus were owned by the bus officials and driver. Below is picture of my friends and the bus that we rode going to mayoyao.

A very long trip!!!!

A week a ago me and my two officemates decided to go to the baptism of ate clyde's daughter which i thought is in Benguet but no its in Ifugao. When  i heard that we are going to Ifugao i really got nervous because i really thought that it's not so safe to go there since  we'll be passing roads through mountains. I keep on asking my officemate if it's safe to travel there. She said that it's safe, there is no need for me to worry. Then Friday came, the day we decided to travel. After i woke up i texted my mother that i will be going to Ifugao. She replied to me  to just stay in the boarding house instead of going to Ifugao because they are worried. But still i insisted. i texted them that we will go to Ifugao with Clavel's mother, a relative of the family. But still they don't want me to go. So i decided to obey tham because i don't want them to worry about me. But when i got to the  boarding house, I found clavel's mother and told her that i will no longer be going with them because my parents don't want me to go. But my officemates and clavel's mother keep insisting that i should go because this might be the first and last time that we will go to Ifugao since it's very far.So i texted again my parents to tell them that i will still go to Ifugao and i promise that i will take care of myself. They didn't reply so i texted my cousin, who is currently staying in our house. And then she replied "bahala ka na daw sabi nila tita". When i read this i got guilty but still i joined them.. hehe... pasaway tlga ako!!!

So we prepare our things and at 10pm we waited for the bus going to Santiago. We realized that we might have encounter a problem in riding the bus because since it's friday there might be so many passengers and we might not be able to sit. So we tried all the buses that passes by and because of that we ended in an ordinary bus going to Tuguegarao. While we are travelling we had a very memorable experience. But I will stop my story here for the moment, juts wait for my next post where i will be posting our pictures and the adventures we had. Till my next post..

Chocolate Chocolate!!!!!!

Who doesn't love chocolates? Everyone loves chocolate for sure.. and i am one of them.. i really love chocolates but we also know that too much chocolates is not good for the health. here are some of facts about chocolates and tips on how much chocolate we need to take..

Allowable under certain conditions

Despite the claims that chocolate is unhealthy for you, this luscious treat actually has an average glycemic index of 49, equivalent to rice and carrots and lower than that of bread.

So how healthy is a piece of chocolate? It depends on the cocoa and sugar content of the product. The richer the chocolate's cocoa content is, the healthier it is. Opt for chocolates labeled with 60% or more cocoa (forget white chocolate, as it doesn't contain cocoa and is instead loaded with sugar). While new studies have shown that eating chocolate is good for you, consume it in moderate amounts, as it is still considered a sweet.

If you are hit by a sweet craving, it is better to eat two squares of dark chocolate than to polish off an entire plate of cakes or pastries. Take care to read the labels, as many dark chocolate bars are actually high in sugar. Purer chocolate bars are the healthy alternative.

Sugary snacks

Your favorite tea time treats can put a dent in your weight loss regimen. Most biscuits and cookies contain butter, sugar, and eggs and have a GI score of 55 or higher.

It would be a shame to completely take them out of your diet, so treat yourself to an occasional cookie or two this week, and simply be judicious about the kind of cookie you choose. Choose ones that are low in sugar and excessive fillings. Even better, opt for high quality cookies or biscuits, as these pack more flavor, have purer ingredients, and are meant to be savored.

Cookie alternatives

  • Plain graham crackers
  • Cereal bars
  • Wheat crackers

No more candy...

Who has never craved for candy? They bring immediate pleasure the moment you pop them in your mouth, but unfortunately, they are also calorie and sugar bombs. Since you've seen your fair share of Halloween parties, perhaps it is best to avoid these sugary treats from your daily diet.

Candies are often described as “empty calories” because they have very little to no nutritional value at all unlike chocolates, which are chock-full of antioxidants.

Two tips to avoid succumbing to sugar temptation

  • Tiny mint candies are relatively low in calories but contain strong flavor, enough to curb any further cravings
  • If you must have something sweet, try a slice of fresh or dried fruits.

If you've been good, reward your efforts by treating yourself to two squares of dark chocolate–make sure they are at least 60% cocoa!

Advice from the experts

Sometimes we eat even when we are not hungry. Have you ever found yourself watching a television show and then suddenly craving for a snack even when you're not hungry? If you have, then you are probably just used to eating in front of the television. Wean yourself away from this habit by lessening your television time. Taking note of the times when you binge so you further take control of your body!

4 Walking Mistakes

Walking at least 30 mins a day or 10,000 steps a day is a good habit in maintaining your healthy body. But do we reqally know hot to properly execute it? Here are the four common walking mistakes that we unawarely commit.

Walking with your head down
  • This can cause muscle pain in your neck, back, and shoulders

  • Straighten your back, raise your chin and look far ahead

    Don't take big steps

  • Little steps remember? When beginners take up brisk-walking, they tend to take larger steps when attempting to accelerate. This leads to more pressure on the feet and will tire you out more quickly

  • When accelerating, take brisker steps but keep the normal distance between your feet

  • Walking properly will help you walk faster and keep your energy levels up

    Mind your arms

  • When you walk, bend your elbows and keep them close to your body

  • Allow your arms to swing naturally, as this action increases power, speed, and balance

  • Keep your arm-swinging below chest-level. Any higher and you will tire out more easily

    Make all your muscles work

  • Walking exercises the full length of your leg of course, as well as your arms because of the swinging

  • But walking can work most muscle groups. Contract your abdominal muscles as you walk, doing this regularly for a few weeks will make them stronger

Doing all these little steps will help you get the maximum benefit from your daily walks!

    Advice from the experts

Would you rather walk 30 minutes a day, three times in a week or walk for an hour and a half in one day? The answer is pretty clear, doing regular activities during the week is easier and much better for your body. Three times a week is the minimum recommendation of experts. The idea is get your body used to regular physical exercise.
